Secure a short length of 2"x4" to the
top of the wall studs as show at left leaving enough space
between the top edge of the cleet and the bottom surface of
the overhead floor joists to allow your specific thickness of
drywall to fit into place... |
|
|
|
Measure the distance from the
wall based on your sheetrock dimension and secure both
EZ-UP Lead Blocks
perpendicular (as shown at right)
to different floor joists so that, when turned, the lip on the
Lead Block
will support the sheetrock...
(Remember to skip at least two joists
between Lead Blocks
to ensure maximum support.) |
 |
|
| |
 |
Lift the wall edge of the sheetrock into
the lip of the cleat then lift the sheetrock to the floor joists and twist the
EZ-UP Lead Block
so the lip of the block supports the room side edge of the
drywall sheet... |
|
|
|
|
This is how each of the two EZ-UP Lead Blocks
will look when in the support position... |
 |
|
| |
 |
With the first sheet of drywall held
safely in place with the EZ-UP
System, you now have both hands
free to secure it to the floor joists. |
|
|
|
|
To install additional sheets of
drywall adjacent to the first sheet, remove the
Lead-Blocks
and then screw the
EZ-UP Follow-Up Blocks
to the same joists but on the room-side edge of the first sheet
of drywall... |
 |
|
| |
 |
Then twist the
EZ-UP Follow-Up Block
into place as shown to support the drywall already in place
and provide the lip for the next sheet of
drywall... |
|
|
|
|
Reinstall the
EZ-UP Lead Blocks
on the same joists measuring out the appropriate distance for
your drywall dimension and repeat the process until your
entire ceiling is complete!
(Don't forget to mark where the
joists are located with a chalk line or pencil in order to make securing the drywall
faster and easier!) |

Below are images
showing the proper installation of ceiling drywall using the
EZ-UP System... |
 |
|
The images above and below show the
drywall after two sheets have been installed using the
EZ-UP System.
Note how the EZ-UP Follow-Up
Blocks take the place of the
EZ-UP Lead Blocks
as the installation moves across the ceiling.
NOTE:
Additional EZ-UP Ceiling Drywall
Installation Systems can be
purchased allowing several sheets of drywall to be installed
at once before stopping to secure each section of sheetrock.
